It is reported today that search giants Google have purchased ITA Software, specialist in travel search, for a staggering £461m.
ITA works with travel agents and airlines to give details on flight times, flight availability and flight prices and Google believes that by purchasing ITA Software they can give a much greater and detailed user experience when searching for flight information.
Google reports they have no plans to start selling tickets to consumers but MagnifyB believe it won’t be long before this is the next planned stage as over half of all airline tickets are sold online.
